Introduction to Last Planner – “Villego” Training Event (Michigan CoP)
Join us for a hands-on workshop into the Last Planner System®. No experience is required. The workshop is being facilitated by Jeff Creighton (Director of Lean and Team Development, Barton Malow) and Tariq Abdelhamid (Chief Lean Enterprise Officer/ Associate Professor of Lean Construction, Michigan State University).
Professionals across the construction industry are introducing a new approach to planning their work, generically referred to as Pull Planning, and branded by the Lean Construction Institute as the Last Planner System. This approach focuses on collaborative and commitment-based production planning to balance the workflow, minimize variation, and improve reliability.
The Villego workshop, based on work from Lean Construction Practitioners, is designed to illustrate the differences between traditional planning methods (Push system) versus the Last Planner System (Pull system of production). Attendees will leave with the basic knowledge and skills needed to enhance their daily work and bring this methodology onto their worksites.
