High-Performance Leadership – Advanced Skills (Northern California CoP)

This workshop creates an advanced learning community in which "Respect for People" is realized through specific leadership behaviors, strategies and practical tools. Spread over two full-day sessions, we will deeply examine and practice four areas of Leadership Life Skills; Facilitative Leadership, Communication Skills for Difficult Situations, Meaningful Stakeholder Engagement, and Collaborative Problem Solving and Decision Making.
Participants will receive training materials and guidance that can be immediately adapted and applied to your company and projects. A Certificate of Completion applicable to receive up to 16 hours of Continuing Education Credits will be provided for full attendance.
Instructors:
- Victor Ortiz, (MA, Psychology) has more than 40 years of experience as a trainer, coach and consultant. Vic has trained over 3,000 professionals in Lean practices, meeting facilitation, collaborative teamwork, and successful organization change. Vic has been involved with the Lean Construction Institute since its beginning and facilitated many of the original organizing meetings of LCI. Vic brings a deep understanding of Lean Construction in industrial, process, commercial, and academic project settings.
- Larry Summerfield, SE has been a structural engineer for 35 years, working on Lean/IPD projects since 2008. He has helped lead projects by developing and facilitating on-boarding and training programs in the use of Lean tools, and by leading structural cluster groups. Larry has presented at LCI local chapters, LCI Congress and other industry groups on the practical use of Lean tools including the Last Planner System, Choosing by Advantages, BIM and Target Value Design.
